Publication Ethics

The publication ethics adapted by Perspektif: Journal of Religion and Culture refers to The Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Head of LIPI Regulation Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications. Therefore, all parties (authors, editorial board, and bestarial partners) associated with scientific publications in Perspektif: Journal of Religion and Culture must comply with the publication ethics mentioned in the above rules.

The publication of an article in Perspektif, Journal of Religion and Culture that is reviewed by bestarial partners is essential to the development of a coherent and respected knowledge network. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Review articles support and embody the scientific method in the field of religion and culture. Therefore, it is important to agree on the expected standards of ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: authors, journal editors, bestarial partners, publishers, and the public.

The Aditya Wacana Institute of Missiology as the publisher of Perspektif, Journal of Religion and Culture takes the task of guardianship over all stages of publishing seriously and we assume ethical and other responsibilities.

Publishing decisions
The editors of Perspektif, Journal of Religion and Culture decide which articles to publish. The editors are guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board.

Fair play
The editors evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to the authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, or political philosophy.

Duties of Reviewer
Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Acknowledgment of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors. Any assertion that an observation, derivation, or argument has been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation. Reviewers should also bring to the editor's attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and other published manuscripts of which they are personally aware.

Author Duties
Reporting Standards
A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to enable others to replicate the work. Deliberately fraudulent or inaccurate statements are unethical and unacceptable behavior.

Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that they have written a wholly original piece of work, and where authors have used the work and/or words of others, that this has been appropriately cited or quoted.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
An author should not generally publish a manuscript describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication.

Acknowledgment of Sources
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others should always be given. Authors should cite publications that were influential in determining the nature of the work reported.

Paper Authorship
Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, conduct, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
All authors must disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for this project must be disclosed.
